Climate:
Columbia has an overall warm climate. Winters are mild; snowfall may occur, but rarely lasts more than a day.

Winter 4 to 20 C

Transportation around Campus and the City of Columbia:
If you live on or near the USC campus you may purchase the most common things you need within walking distance. To get around campus there is a shuttle bus providing free transportation for students Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Columbia has an area bus system with 32 bus routes covering about 370 miles in the transit system. The bus runs from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. For trips within South Carolina or the United States, you may use the Greyhound bus or major air carriers.
