Making Conversation

People usually don’t talk about religion, politics or sex until they know each other well.

Ways to start a conversation:

First:
“How’s it going?”
Comment on the weather

If the person is interested in talking, ask:
“What do you do?” (What’s your job?)
“Do you have any brothers or sisters?”
Ask them about their children.

It is fine to start conversations with people you don’t know.  If the person doesn’t seem interested in talking, it is polite to end the conversation.  If someone asks you a question that is rude, it is best to change the subject.
