Smoking, Alcohol, and Controlled Substances

In the United States, people under the age of 18 cannot buy or use tobacco. It is illegal to give tobacco to someone who is underage.

In the United States, people under the age of 21 cannot buy or consume alcohol. It is illegal to give alcohol to someone who is underage.

If underage people smoke or drink alcohol in your apartment or home, you will be held responsible for these illegal acts.

Possession or use of controlled substances (marijuana, cocaine, prescription drugs without a prescription, etc.) is illegal and will not be tolerated.

The University of South Carolina is a “SMOKE FREE CAMPUS”.  You are not allowed to smoke anywhere on campus, including any housing (dorms or apartments) on campus. You may receive a fine from a police officer if you are caught smoking on campus.
